Dutch Chapter Internet Society achieves Gigabit status

On the 21st of December 2022, the Internet Society (ISOC.org) completed the performance evaluations of all 125 ISOC chapters worldwide by the end of the year 2022.

Internet Society Netherlands was considered a Chapter “in good standing” and for the first time since its formation has been awarded a Gigabit status (formerly Megabit).

Internet Society Netherlands was one of the 75 chapters that went beyond the requirements for an ISOC chapter and achieved the highest Gigabit badge.

The ISOC NL board sees its new Chapter status as a welcome encouragement for its teamwork, recent professionalization efforts and preliminary revised focus & strategy: to (re)build bridges between internet infrastructural parties and knowledge institutes on the one hand and Dutch policymakers and citizens on the other hand.

In Q1 of 2023, the ISOC NL board expects to publish its detailed Action Plan. In the meantime, we look forward to keeping supporting the Internet Society’s vision and mission and contributing to the impact ISOC.org achieves globally.
